PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that satisfactorily fixes images in all the areas of a recording medium and stabilizes toner fixability even in the case the resistance of the recoding medium decreases due to environment or use conditions. SOLUTION: The device satisfies the conditional expression of 1.0<=E/L<=3.0, wherein L (mm) is a distance between a peeling means (peeling plate 5) for peeling the recording medium 2 from a latent image carrier 1 and the recording medium 2 and E (kV) is a peeling voltage that is applied to the peeling means. By satisfying the conditional expression, an amount of current flowing from the peeling plate 5 to a fixing roller 4a via the recording medium 2 is adjusted to prevent decrease in toner agglomeration resulting from the inflow of excessive electric charge. Accordingly, satisfactory fixability is assured. |
