PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throttle valve opening arithmetic unit hardly influenced by noise or the like and capable of accurately calculating throttle valve opening. SOLUTION: When detected voltages TPV of values lower than a zero point detected value TPV0 are consecutively outputted for a reference number KTO of times of detection, a CPU 22 stores a detected voltage TPV with the lowest voltage value among respective detected voltages TPV. The CPU 22 determines a deviation between the stored lowest detected voltage TPV and the zero point detected value TPV0, and it divides the deviation equally into two. The CPU 22 calculates a new zero point detected value TPV0 by adding a value of the equally divided deviation and the voltage value of the lowest detected voltage TPV.
