PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dyed woven fabric which has new high gloss and a new high color developing property, is easily degraded in the environment, and is especially suitable for slit ribbons, and to provide a production method for obtaining the woven fabric at a low cost without a problem on the quality. SOLUTION: This woven fabric having a tissue which contains aliphatic polyester multi-filament yarns having a melting point of >=130 deg.C at least in warps and having a floated warp number: sunk warp number ratio of 2:1 or more is characterized in that the woven-covering factor (CF) of wefts is 500 to 1,000. The cover factor (CF)=n×D<1/2> , wherein n is a woven factor (yarn/ inch); D is a density (dtex).
