PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cancel the yellowish tone of a reflection color and the bluish tone of a transmission color and to whiten both the reflection and transmission colors, when silver alloy film is used as a reflection/semitransmission film. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display element having the reflection/ semitransmission film 32 on the inner surface of a rear side panel substrate, the reflection/semitransmission layer 32 has a multi-layered structure consisting of a first layer 321 consisting of an ICO based film (an oxide containing In and Ce) having a high refractive index, a second layer 322 consisting of alloy comprising essentially of silver, a third layer 323 consisting of a metal oxide film having a refractive index lower than that of the ICO based film and a fourth layer 324 consisting of the ICO based film having high refractive index the same to that of the first layer successively formed on the rear side panel substrate. |
