SOLUTION: In the method for applying the coating film temporary protective pressure-sensitive adhesive film, the angular parts of the coating film temporary protective pressure-sensitive adhesive film having a rectangular, square or triangular shape are preliminarily cut off partially or wholly and the corners of the newly generated film are cut off in a straight line or curved line state so that the angles of the corners become 91 deg. or more. Then the cut film is applied to the surface of a car coated article.
