PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a western style water closet which surely enables effective utilization of a toilet room, facilitates maintenance for replacing a strainer, and can realize excellent workability and durability. SOLUTION: A water supply means 11 is composed of: a flexible hose 22 which is connected to a water service pipe W via a water shut off valve 21a; and a water supply cylinder 23 which is connected with the flexible hose 22 in an under cover 13 and has the built-in strainer 23d. In the cylinder 23, the strainer 23d can be taken out obliquely downward from the outside of the under cover 13, and the flexible hose 22 can be connected from obliquely below.
