PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently press in a pile by reducing the resisting force of the pile, when pressed in. SOLUTION: This chucking device 2 is provided in a pile press-in device using reaction with an existing steel pipe pile for pressing the steel pipe pile in a ground. The chucking device 2 has a chucking part 4, a hydraulic motor 34 and a gear 35. The chucking part 4 is chucking means for gripping the steel pipe pile. The hydraulic motor 34 and the gear 35 are rotating means for continuously rotating the steel pipe pile gripped by the chucking part 4 in at least one rotating direction by continuously rotating the chucking part 4 in at least one rotating direction.
