PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT system capable of changing photographing time of scout scanning, an exposure or the resolution of a scout image corresponding to a purpose of photographing, and its control method. SOLUTION: In a fluoroscopic image data gathering process of performing scout scanning, a prescribed data gathering mode (high speed mode/high definition mode) is judged (step S4). Corresponding to the judged data gathering mode, the opening width of an aperture and the carrying speed of a table for mounting a testee body are set (steps S5 and 6/steps S7 and 8) and the fluoroscopic image data are gathered (step S9).
