PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a mixer allowing the inner surfaces of a container and a lid or a cutter after use to be completely cleaned in view of a conventional mixer not provided with an effective means for cleaning the inner surfaces of the container and lid after use. SOLUTION: The cutter is mounted on a rotating shaft projected from the bottom part of the container 3 storing food to be prepared for cooking, and vegetable and fruits in the container 3 are smashed by the rotation of the cutter and prepared for cooking. A switch for controlling the rotation of the cutter is provided with a switch 13 for cleaning operation in addition to an ON switch 10 and an OFF switch 11. In the cleaning operation, the rotating rate of the cutter is made lower than the rotating rate for the preparation for cooking. A relatively large quantity of water containing a cleanser is thereby put in the container 3 after use, and the cutter is rotated to clean the whole inner surface of the container.
