PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a garbage treatment device capable of enhancing decomposition property by detecting a decomposition heat caused by decomposition of the garbage and providing a control corresponding to the decomposition status. SOLUTION: The garbage treating device is provided with a garbage treatment tank 11 retaining a microorganism carrier 10 carried with a microorganism at the inside; stirring means 15, 16 for mixing the microorganism carrier 10 with the garbage; a first temperature sensor 13 for detecting the temperature Tm of the mixture of the microorganism carrier 10 and the garbage; and a control device 14 for controlling the stirring means 15, 16 based on the temperature Tm of this mixture. The garbage treating device has an indication part 18 for informing right or wrong of throwing of the garbage. The control device 14 determines the decomposition status of the garbage based on the temperature Tm of the mixture, outputs the informing information 'throwing allowed' and 'throwing not allowed' to the indication part 18 and controls the stirring means 15, 16 corresponding to the decomposition status.
