METHOD FOR PRODUCING L-LYSINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing L-lysine by a fermentation technique further improved compared to conventional ones, and to provide a coryneform bacterium to be used in the method. SOLUTION: The coryneform bacterium with improved ability to produce L-lysine is obtained by transferring a gene encoding diaminopimelic epimerase to the original coryneform bacterium having the ability to produce L-lysine to enhance the intracellular diaminopimelic epimerase activity.
