SUBSTANCE: invention provides alpha-olefin copolymerization methods involving catalytic systems, which include nitrogencontaining transition metal compounds with structural motif represented by formula B: (B), wherein M denotes Fe(II), Fe(III), Ru(II), Ru(III), or Ru(IV); X denotes Cl or Br; T is oxidation state of transition metal M; b valence of group X; R1,R2,R3,R4 and R6, independently from each other, denote hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, n-butyl, n-hexyl, or n-octyl; and R5 and R7, independently from each other, denote phenyl, 1-naphthyl, 2-naphthyl, 2-methylphenyl, 2- ethylphenyl, 2,5-diisopropylphenyl, 2,3-diisopropylphenyl, 2,4- diisopropylphenyl, 2,6-di-n-butylphenyl, 2,6-dimethylphenyl, 2,3- dimethylphenyl, 2,4-dimethylphenyl, 2-tert-butylphenyl, 2,6-diphenylphenyl, 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl, 2,6-dimethylphenyl, 2,6-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl, 4- bromo-2,6- dimethylphenyl, 3,5-dichloro-2,6-diethylphenyl, 2,6-bis(2,6- dimethylphenyl)phenyl, cyclohexyl, or pyridyl.
