PURPOSE: A method for controlling operations in a mobile communication terminal capable of an HDR(High-speed Data Rates) service is provided to reduce battery consumption, and to reduce load of hardware and software for each control related to two wireless receiving parts. CONSTITUTION: A controller checks a current mode of a terminal(100). The controller decides whether the current mode of the terminal is a traffic mode for an HDR service(102). If so, the controller supplies battery power to the first wireless part and the second wireless part, and processes signals related to the first and second wireless parts(104). If not a traffic mode in the step 102, the controller turns off a switch not to apply battery power to a dedicated wireless receiving part of the second wireless part, and processes signals only related to the first wireless part(110). After the step 104, the controller periodically checks HDR during a preset section, to calculate an average data rate during the section(106). The controller checks whether the average data rate is larger than a preset threshold(108). If so, the controller progresses to the step 110. |
