PURPOSE: A forming oil for a cathode ray tube and its preparation method are provided, to improve the process efficiency, to lower the cost and to reduce the environmental pollution due to the materials used to remove oil by removing the oil removing process and oil removing section completely. CONSTITUTION: The forming oil comprises a synthetic alkyl-based hydrocarbon, 30-60 parts by weight of a synthetic oil, 30-50 parts by weight of an ether synthetic oil, 0.5 parts by weight or more of an abrasion preventing agent, 0.1-2 parts by weight a melamine-based lubrication enhancer, 0.5-5 parts by weight of extreme pressure additive, and 0.05-1 parts by weight of an antioxidizing agent. Preferably the synthetic alkyl-based hydrocarbon has a molecular weight of 700-1,500; and the ether synthetic oil has a molecular weight of 1,000-1,500. Also the forming oil comprises 30-60 parts by weight of a synthetic vegetable oil or 30-50 parts by weight of a synthetic ether oil, 0.5 parts by weight or more of an abrasion preventing agent, 0.1-2 parts by weight a melamine-based lubrication enhancer, 0.5-5 parts by weight of extreme pressure additive, and 0.05-1 parts by weight of an antioxidizing agent. Preferably the synthetic vegetable oil has a molecular weight of 500-1,200 and the synthetic ether oil has a molecular weight of 700-1,200.
