PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is difficult to provide detailed information on a ship lane or dangerous spot since a means for providing information on a channel mark by utilizing light is a light emitting means generally. SOLUTION: When emitting the light source of an optical communication sign, a large quantity of information can be transmitted by flickering the light source at high speed in the frequency of a carrier wave, on which information modulation is executed. Further, by attaining the exchange of information between optical communication signs, information can be propagated even to a distant place, where light does not reach originally, by relay type transmission. Further, by providing the optical communication sign itself with a self-diagnostic function, in the case of fault or damage, automatic reporting to a maintenance center or the like is attained and periodical checks by sight can be reduced. Moreover, by providing a measuring instrument, the information of an external environment such as temperature or fore of the wind can also be reported. |
