PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sales management system and a method for promoting the sales of refrigerator commodities. SOLUTION: This system and method comprises two or more client refrigerators 2a-2m having a commodity information management means for managing the stock information for commodities housed in the refrigerators and communicating means; a commodity information management server 3 for managing refrigerator commodity information; one or more commodity sales servers 4a and 4b for managing the sales of refrigerator commodities, the refrigerators, the management server and the sales servers being mutually connected through a communication network. The commodity information server 3 comprises a commodity information management means, a user information management means, and a commodity seller information management means. The client refrigerator 2a-2m transmits its own refrigerator commodity information to the commodity information management server 3 through the communication network, and the commodity information management server 3 which received the information transmits the stock information and user information to the commodity sales servers 4a and 4b for selling the commodities.
