PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert a multi-level image data into an image data capable of printing it at a high speed with a high image quality. SOLUTION: In order to make possible a high-speed printing, a multi-level image data is converted into the image data having a low resolution. In the conversion, two dots adjacent to each other are so collected in a set as to select one dot of the two dots the representing density of which is larger than the one of the other dot. By the conversion into the selected one dot, the multi- level image data is converted into the image data having a low resolution. If doing so, even when the image depicted in an original image is a thin line on a white background, the image data capable of printing it with a high mage quality can be obtained without erasing the thin line. |
