PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a digital recording device not restart recording recordable contents even when the recordable contents are inputted since a storage area is wasted or the recording is stopped by recording blank data to a recording medium once copy inhibition information is inputted during the recording of the contents. SOLUTION: A copy control information detection part 102 detects copy control information showing whether header information of contents can be copied or is inhibited from being copied. A CPU 103 instructs the D-VHS control part 10 to temporarily stop the recording once receiving the copy inhibition information while a D-VHS control part 104 is recording the contents on a D-VHS tape 105 and also instructs the D-VHS control part 104 to restart the recording when receiving information indicating that the information can be copied during the temporary stop. An LED 109 is made to illuminate under the control of an LED control part 108 to let a user know that the recording is temporarily stopped according to the copy inhibition information.
