PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that if a cleaning for a substrate is not made, trouble of degradation of adhesion of an adhesive in cap sealing or of a film in film sealing occurs in a subsequent sealing process, and a problem of sealing level degradation attributable to it, that is, growth of a dark spot in an organic EL element arises. SOLUTION: This organic EL element and its manufacturing method are characterized in that the organic EL element has, on a substrate irradiated with a UV-ray of 200 nm or less, a layered product composed of at least one or more organic compound layers caught between a positive electrode and a negative electrode.
