PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communication device where a transmitter side encrypts an image file attached to electronic mail and which permits decryption of the encrypted image file only for particular people with mail addresses of the electronic mail. SOLUTION: The image communication device is characterized in to comprise; an image data reception means (1232) that can receive image data in a confidential form in compliance with a facsimile protocol; an image data conversion means (111) that converts the image data received with confidentiality into an image file attachable to the electronic mail; an electronic mail generating means (111) that generates electronic mail to which the image file is attached; a mail address table (112) that sores at least one mail address corresponding to a confidential ID acquired when the image data reception means receives the data with confidentiality; and an encryption means (185) that uses the confidentiality ID for a decryption key to encrypt the image file.
