PURPOSE: Provided is a lithium ion polymer battery having a structure, which can ensure stability, when pouch is expanded and ruptured owing to increase of internal pressure of the battery, if the pouch is used as enclosure. CONSTITUTION: The lithium ion polymer battery comprises a polar plate assembly; a pouch type enclosure(26) having a case(26b) for receiving the polar plate assembly, and a cover(26a) for sealing the battery, which is fused with the case; and a fracture side which is formed at either side of the enclosure by ultrasonic fusion, and is fractured when the internal pressure of the battery is increased. The fracture side is positioned at longitudinal side of the enclosure.
