METHOD FOR UPDATING PATH INDUCTION DATA IN NAVIGATION SYSTEM USING RADIO NETWORK

PURPOSE: A method for updating path induction data in a navigation system using a radio network is provided to guide correctly a traveling path by reflecting the real-time traffic and road information. CONSTITUTION: A navigation terminal transmits the present position measured by a GPS(Global Positioning System) device and the destination inputted by a user to an information center through a radio network(S302). A navigation terminal guides visually and acoustically a traveling path according to the received path induction data(S304). The navigation terminal checks an automatic update mode of the path induction data(S306). The navigation terminal checks a manual update mode if the automatic update mode is not set up(S308). The navigation terminal checks a predetermined period if the automatic update mode of the path induction data is set up(S312). The navigation terminal guides the traveling path if the automatic update mode of the path induction data is not set up. A period counter is initialized if the predetermined period corresponds to the setup period(S314). The path induction data are updated(S310).
