SOLUTION: In the settlement support system 10, a purchase receiving server 100 receiving a settlement demand following purchase of a commodity from a user generates inquiry information for inquiring of a settlement processing server 300 about credit propriety of the user, it reads code information not in use from a table storing plural pieces of code information to be appended to the inquiry information, it appends the code information to the inquiry information, and it sends the inquiry information appended with the code information to the settlement support server 200. The settlement support server 200 makes a credit inquiry by sending the inquiry information to the settlement processing server 300, and it sends response information from the settlement processing server 300 to the purchase receiving server 100. A plurality of credit inquiries are concurrently carried out in parallel by using the plural pieces of code information.
