PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a designing method for an inductor and a device for designing the inductor and the like which can design the inductor with a core structure having a gap at high precision. SOLUTION: In designing an inductor using a magnetic material having an air gap in a magnetic path as the core, a relation of an air gap length to a fringing factor is calculated in advance and then a value of the fringing factor corresponding to the air gap is calculated. An effective permeability of the magnetic path is calculated based on the value of the fringing factor and the number of coil turns is calculated from the effective permeability and an iron-core dimension.
