PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, when reproducing a disk at high speed, performing access operation, or reproducing an optical disk having a large amount of side-runout and eccentricity, high power source voltage in a focus drive circuit and a tracking drive circuit is advantageous, however, in other than the above, useless power consumption is generated in a focus drive circuit and a tracking drive circuit if the power source voltage of the focus drive circuit and the tracking drive circuit is high. SOLUTION: The optical disk drive is equipped with a first power source voltage supplying a drive circuit at normal reproduction or recording operation, a second power source voltage which is higher than the first power source voltage, and a switching means to switch to the second power source voltage when necessary to enhance the driving power of an actuator. At least, either one of the first power source voltage and the second power source voltage is supplied from the outside. In addition, a means to convert from the first or the second power source to a third power source voltage which is lower than the first voltage is provided, and, by an instruction from the control means, the driving voltage of an actuator drive circuit is switched to the third power source voltage.
