PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, an image processor, a pro gram, a recording medium, and an image formation device capable of determin ing the type and intensity of noise superposed on an input image and smoothly performing superposition superposing the noise on the input image for converting the input image into a visually favorable image. SOLUTION: This image processing method is characterized in including an analysis process for finding a fractal dimension of the input image and a noise parameter setting process for determining the type and the intensity of the noise superposed on the input image for converting the input image into a prescribed image based on the found fractal dimension. This method allows to smoothly determine the type of noise adapted to the complexity of the input image without any process of trial and error for determining the type and intensity of the noise superposed on the input image. The noise having the thus determined type and intensity is superposed on the input image so that the input image can be converted into the visually favorable image.
