PURPOSE: To provide a brush hair material used for a brush roll in which the periphery of the brush hair material is subjected to resin setting with multifilament yarn so as to be furnished with a covering, capable of suitably performing cooling required for polishing a strip, even when any troubles arise in supplying cooling water. CONSTITUTION: In this brush hair material, the covering 2 for a main body 10 of the material comprises the multifilament yarn 21 of a fiber having an official regain of not less than three times that of a polyamide fiber.
