PURPOSE: A method for matching a service line when generating a synchronous type optical transmission apparatus unit alarm in a transmission network management system is provided to make a service line from a transmission apparatus unit alarm corresponded in order to grasp the relation of alarms detected from several devices. CONSTITUTION: Alarms generated from several devices are a device relative alarm and a line relative alarm. If the alarm are the line relative alarm(S602), information on input/output ports and signal level information are inputted from a point generated an alarm. Thereafter, if the signal level is not the highest level(S603), cross connection information of the corresponding synchronous type optical transmission apparatus is checked from a synchronous type optical transmission apparatus(S604) and then an alarm generation time slot is determined. A line relating the alarm is checked by using the determined alarm generation time slot(S610), a line alarm processing of the line accommodated to the corresponding slot is performed(S611). Thereafter, a line relating the alarm is checked and then if the corresponding line does not exist, an apparatus alarm processing is performed(S612).
