PURPOSE: An apparatus for correcting ear defect of both edge parts of the coil is provided to improve quality and facility operating rate by performing correcting operation without causing of strip damage and facility trouble when coil mounted on pay off reel is led-in a skin-pass mill by being unwounded in a strip shape. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for correcting ear defect of both edge parts of coil comprises lower flat roll part, upper tapered roll part and width adjusting part, wherein the lower flat roll part comprises a pair of tapered rolls(222) and a pair of flat rolls(102), both ends of the flat rolls(102) are rotationally supported by a chock(104) installed on the upper part of a sliding base(118) capable of being moved side to side, one end of the flat rolls(102) is driven by a flat roll driving motor(124), the pair of tapered rolls(222) are installed at the upper tapered roll part, the outer shaft of the tapered rolls(222) is rotationally supported by chock through universal joints(230), the chock is vertically moved by a cylinder(202) in the state that the chock is vertically guided, the inner shaft of the tapered rolls(222) is rotationally supported by chock through spline universal joints(216), the chock is vertically moved by cylinder(202) in the state that the chock is vertically guided, one of the universal joints(230) is driven by tapered roll driving motor(244) through spline universal joint(238), the width adjusting part is installed to move sliding blocks(312) side to side by being interlocked with width variation of side guide according to width variation of strip, wherein a screw shaft(302) in which both screws inserted into bearing box(304) in the center of the width adjusting part face each other is screw connected to female screw hole of the sliding blocks(312), one end of the screw shaft(302) is driven by width adjusting driving motor(316), and the sliding blocks(312) slidingly moved side to side on base(322).
