PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube which is capable of shortening a vibration damping time of a shadow mask as well as stabilizing it by simple techniques in a color cathode-ray tube with a damper for damping its vibrations. SOLUTION: In this color cathode-ray tube, a pair of through holes formed in a shadow mask for passing dampers through them freely are disposed so as to make their positions differ from one hole to another in a horizontal direction and an up-and-down direction, respectively. As a pair of the through holes formed are disposed so as to make their positions differ from one hole to another in a horizontal direction as well as an up-and-down direction, respectively, the dampers always take respective actions of contact, sliding and moving apart surely for the both of a pair of passing holes in vibrating of a shadow mask. As a result, the dampers are capable of shortening a vibration damping time of the shadow mask as well as taking actions of vibration damping stably.
