A tape applicator, wherein, when a movable body (10) having a tape passage (25) leading a tape held on a tape holding part (20) to a tape application tip part and a tape application part (30) for pressing the tape against a tape application surface is pressed down, the tape application part is moved integrally with the tape passage and the tape holding part and a tape tip edge is locked onto the tip edge of the tape application part stably in stationary state at all times so that the tape can be stuck accurately at a desired position, and retaining plates (40, 41) vertically movable in forward and backward directions and independent of each other are installed on both sides of the tape application part by using those members other than tape application members so that the lower end parts of the retaining plates can press the application surface independently at the time of application, whereby a flap can be fitted closely to the application surface and the displacement thereof can be prevented so that the adhesive tape can be stuck neatly in a straight line.
