ADVANCE TREATMENT APPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR NITROGEN AND PHOSPHATE REMOVAL IN SEWAGE AND WASTEWATER

PURPOSE: An advance treatment apparatus and a process for nitrogen and phosphate removal in sewage and wastewater are provided, which can remove organics, nitrogen and phosphorus simultaneously and reduce the size of reactors by shortening retention time. CONSTITUTION: The advanced treatment apparatus comprises an anoxic tank(30) in which raw wastewater introduced via a drum screen(21) and wastewater recycled from contact oxidation tank undergo denitrification, where nitrate (NO3) is returned to nitrite (NO2) and nitrogen gas (N2); an anaerobic tank(40) in which organics in effluent from the anoxic tank are stored in the form of PHB (poly hydroxy butyrate) associated with phosphorus release; a contact oxidation tank(50) in which a fixed biocontact media(51) is installed to remove residual organics in effluent from the anaerobic tank and cause both nitrification and luxury uptake of phosphorus; and a submerged membrane separation tank(60) in which solid/liquid separation is conducted to drain sludge.
