PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for executing the optimum recording at a speed transition point are provided to appropriately change write speed, write strategy, and optical power by detecting each speed transition point of an optical disk according to a zoned-CLV(Constant Linear Velocity). CONSTITUTION: A digital recording signal processor(30a) converts input digital data into a recording format, adding an ECC(Error Correction Code) to the digital data. A channel bit encoder(40) reconverts the converted data into bit stream. An optical drive(41) outputs an intensity driving signal. An optical pickup(20) writes a signal at an optical disk(10) or detects a write signal from a write surface. An R/F part(50) filter-shapes the signal detected from the optical pickup for outputting the shaped signal as a binary signal. A drive(70) drives the optical pickup and a spindle motor(11). A servo(60) controls a tracking error signal and a focusing error signal, and driving of the drive. A digital reproducing signal processor(30b) restores the binary signal into the original data with a self-clock phase synchronized with the binary signal. A microcomputer(80) executes a data write to the optical disk by applying the optimum write strategy corresponding to each speed according to disk codes stored at a ROM(81), appropriately changing write speed and write strategy at preliminarily designated speed transition points.
