PURPOSE: A method for inputting English character in a mobile communication terminal is provided to set a character of high frequency when inputting an English character as a basic key and then set the remnant keys as introduction keys, thereby facilitating the input of a character. CONSTITUTION: A character of high frequency is allocated a basic character key. The remnant keys are allocated as introduction keys. An English character is inputted by combining the basic key and the introduction key. The basic character is inputted by touching the button of character once. Other character is inputted by touching additionally the introduction key once more. The basic character keys are Q,A,E,I,L,O,R,T and Y and three characters including the basic character keys are allocated to each number key. The introduction keys are allocated as buttons of * and # and a recording button. A character excepting the basic character is inputted by pressing down the corresponding number key and the predetermined introduction key.
