PURPOSE: A transflective liquid crystal display device is provided to prevent light loss at a boundary area by forming shield patterns with a material of a gate electrode and a material of an active layer, thereby improving each contrast ratio of a reflective mode and a transmissive mode. CONSTITUTION: A thin film transistor is formed of a gate electrode(125), source and drain electrodes(162,163). A first passivation layer(170) covers the thin film transistor and has a first transmissive hole(172) and a slope step part of an edge of the first transmissive hole. A reflective plate(180) is formed on the first passivation layer and has a second transmissive hole(182) corresponding to the first transmissive hole and the slope step part. A second passivation layer(190) covers the reflective plate and has a contact hole(191) exposing the drain electrode. A transmissive electrode(200) is formed on the second passivation layer and is connected with the drain electrodes through the contact hole. A first shield pattern is formed of the same material as the gate electrode, has an aperture corresponding to the first transmissive hole, and corresponds to the slope step part. An active layer(141) is formed of silicon. A second shield pattern(145) is formed of the same material as the active layer.
