PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic gain control device wherein change of a circuit for updating a control table or the like in accordance with change of analog components and required specification is unnecessary and coping with various systems is enabled, and to provide a radio communication apparatus. SOLUTION: This automatic gain control device 10 is provided with a feed- forward gain control circuit (FF) 3 which performs control in accordance with an RSSI signal, a feedback gain control circuit (FB) 11 which detects an output signal and performs control, and a control unit 12 which corrects a control value due to the (FF) 3 by using the (FB) 11 and controls gain of an AGC amplifier 1. The (FB) 11 performs gain control by using a control value which is constant in a range of a signal power value which corresponds to from (N-1)×STEP [dB] to N×STEP [dB] by setting an expected value as reference. The control unit 12 performs gain rough adjustment wherein the RSSI signal value is subjected to a linear transformation, performs gain fine adjustment by using the signal power value due to the (FB) 11 and controls gain of the AGC amplifier 1.
