PURPOSE: A method for managing clients in a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server by an OUI(Organization Unification Identifier) is provided to reduce the storing capacity of a client DB and the load of a DHCP server by managing clients through the OUI. CONSTITUTION: If clients transmit request packets to a DHCP server(50), the DHCP server(50) retrieves whether OUIs of the clients are stored in a client DB(51). If the OUIs of the clients are stored in the client DB(51), the DHCP server(50) transmits policies mapped with the corresponding OUIs to the clients.
