A domestic refrigerator or freezer comprises a food storage compartment delimited by insulated walls and by one or more access doors to said compartment, in which one or more walls and/or doors are provided with a metallic film, preferably a metallised polymeric film, capable of enhancing the performance of the refrigerator with regard to energy saving.
