PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a communication error, if any, without starting the retrain procedure, the primary procedure and the control channel synchronizing procedure, thereby reducing the communication time and hence the communication cost. SOLUTION: A transmit side facsimile 1 based on the G3 facsimile transmission procedure ITU-T Recommendation T.30 Appendix F, using the ITU-T Recommendation V.34 semi-duplex modulation system, has a means for detecting a partial page request signal (PPR) sent at a specified intervals from a receive side facsimile 2 based on the same recommendation and for deciding whether the correction of facsimile picture data continues after detecting the signal PPR at the specified intervals, and a means transmitting a correction continue signal (CTC) having information showing the data signaling rate for retransmitting the facsimile information data on a primary channel.
