PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for controlling display of electronic program guide information are provided to display electronic program guide information selected according to a user's taste to allow the user to use the information conveniently. CONSTITUTION: Electronic program guide information corresponding to EPG folder specification allocated by a user is classified and stored in a memory(302). Electronic program guide information included in an EPG folder selected from an EPG menu is extracted from the memory(305). The extracted electronic program guide information is converted into a predetermined graphic signal to output the graphic signal on a screen(306). The EPG folder defines EPG files corresponding to program contents the user wants to find.
