PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To load two kinds of large and small disk cartridges having different sizes by accurately making the centers and a rotational center of a spindle motor match with each other. SOLUTION: A cartridge holder 4 constituting the disk drive unit is composed of a base plate 5 and right/left guide members 6R, 6L freely slidable with respect to the base plate 5. On the base plate 5, a gear 7 is pivotally and freely rotatably supported, and guide holes 5a1 , 5a2 , 5a3 , 5b1 , 5b2 , 5b3 are formed in a direction perpendicular to the inserting direction of the disk cartridge. Meanwhile, the guide members 6R, 6L are provided with racks 64a, 64a engaged with the gear 7 opposed thereto. Elastic members 9a, 9b are disposed between the base plate 5 and each of the guide members 6R, 6L and energized so as to position at base ends of each of guide holes 5a1 , 5a2 , 5a3 , 5b1 , 5b2 , 5b3 . In this case, lengths of the guide holes 5a1 , 5a2 , 5a3 , 5b1 , 5b2 , 5b3 are set corresponding to the difference in widths of the large/small disk cartridges.
