PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device in which a cartridge housing a recording medium therein is smoothly loaded/unloaded with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a disk holder 20 mounted freely to slide for transporting a recording medium 52 up to a reproducing/recording part 40 while housing the cartridge 51 wherein the recording medium 52 is housed, and a disk chassis 10 which houses the disk holder 20, on the base of which a reproducing/recording part 40 is arranged, and in which a spring part 30 is mounted on the side part while pressing toward the moving cartridge 51. An engaging part 32 of the spring part 30 is engaged with an engaging groove 54 formed on a shutter part 53 freely and slidably openable/closable of the cartridge 51, and the shutter part 53 is opened/closed in accordance with the movement of the disk holder 20. When the opening/closing operation of the shutter part 53 is finished, the engagement between the engaging part 32 and the engaging groove 54 is released by the disk holder 20, and a rib part 22 formed on the side part is provided to prevent the spring part 30 from being brought into contact with the cartridge 51.
