PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for storing an article to be carried in and out by a user in a prescribed storage place and preliminarily preventing the theft of a stored article by checking the authenticity of the user when the user carries out the stored article. SOLUTION: When the use of this system is started, a user ID written in an IC tag 30 attached to a bicycle is read by a reader 24, and noticed to a control center. When the use is ended, a card owned by the user is inputted to a reader 26 of terminals 20A-F, and the written user ID is noticed as a storage release request. The control center which receives this confirms the coincidence of the ID of the card and the ID of the tag read at usage start, and permits the storage release. The terminal to which release permission is noticed detects the presence or absence of a stored article by the sensor, and on detecting the change of a state from the presence to absence of an article when any storage release permission is not noticed, the terminal recognizes the theft of the stored article, and announces the theft.
