EXHAUST GAS CLARIFIER FOR AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE: An exhaust gas clarifier for an automobile is provided to reduce cost and to improve assemblability and maintainability. CONSTITUTION: Flanges(41) with an inlet(34), an outlet(35) and fixing bolts(40) are connected to ends of a plate type shell(33). The shell comprises an inner shell(42) with catalyst(31), and an outer shell(43) with a mat(32). Inner rings(45) are inserted between the inner shell and the outer shell to protect the charged mat. Volume of the catalyst is 1.5-1.7 times as large as catalyst in an existing exhaust gas clarifier.
