PURPOSE: A method for transmitting state information by using a control code in IMT-2000 system is provided to reduce a message size for transmitting state information and then transmit the reduced message, thereby decreasing load generated to the system. CONSTITUTION: By using a predetermined control code, information on states of a system is transmitted. In a first process, it is sensed that a state of an optional device is changed. In a second process, a state code sequence is produced. The state code sequence includes a device control code for representing the changed device, a state control code for representing a state of the changed device and a discriminator for discriminating the control codes. In a third process, the produced state code sequence is transmitted. The state information is transmitted to a device(110) necessary for the state change information by a state management unit(100).
