PURPOSE: Provided is a method for fabricating alkali metal silicate, M2O·nSiO2·xH2O, wherein M is an alkali metal and n is not less than 3.5, which is excellent in hardness and endurance and has short curing time. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing amorphous silica with specific surface area of 100 to 500 cm¬2/g and alkali solution; and fusing the mixture by heating and pressing the mixture, wherein the alkali solution is one of sodium hydroxide solution, potassium hydroxide solution, lithium hydroxide solution, and sodium carbonate solution, and a first sodium silicate (Na2O·2SiO2·xH2O), a second sodium silicate(2Na2O·5SiO2·xH2O) and a third sodium silicate (Na2O·3SiO2·xH2O), and wherein the amorphous silica is porous silica with a grain size of 0.4 to 5 μm and a specific surface area 100 to 500cm¬2/g and is chemically activated.
