PURPOSE: An Internet phone having a user state display function and a control method thereof are provided to search an address list of Internet phones stored to a memory, receive information on the Internet phones relating to addresses periodically from a server and display the information to the outside, thereby capable of grasping a state of other Internet phones without a direct call. CONSTITUTION: A memory unit(1) stores Internet address information etc.. A CPU(Central Processing Unit)(3) reads address information of each user from an Internet address list stored to the memory unit(1) and then transmits a state information request signal of an Internet phone corresponding to the address information to an information server(2). The CPU(3) also outputs a control signal for displaying the Internet phone state information received from the Information server(2). A display control unit(5) displays Internet phone state information through an LED(Light Emitting Diode)(4) according to the display control signal of the CPU(3). An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)(6) displays Internet phone state information according to the control signal of the CPU(3) as a video signal.
