PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric rotating machine for vehicle in which a high output can be realized while reducing magnetic pole loss. SOLUTION: A rotor 100 included in the electric rotating machine comprises a rotary shaft 2, a field winding 3 and an annular laminated core 4. A rotor core 1 comprises a tubular boss section 11 fitted over the rotary shaft 2, a disc part 12 spreading radially from the end face of the boss part 11, and a cylindrical part 13 linked with the disc part 12 and continuous along the rotary shaft 2. A plurality of protrusions 13a and recesses 13b are formed at the outside diameter part of the cylindrical part 13 while being arranged alternately in the circumferential direction. The annular laminated core 4 is disposed tightly to the outside diameter part of the protrusion 13a at the cylindrical part 13 of the rotor core 1. Diameter at the boss part 11 can be increased using the cylindrical part 13 and the annular laminated core 4.
