CONSTANT PRESSURE AIR BEARING USING POROUS MATERIAL

PURPOSE: A constant pressure air bearing using a porous material is provided to increase load support capacity and stiffness, and remove friction generated between a bearing and a journal of a shaft by air sprayed through delivery holes of a vent. CONSTITUTION: A hole is formed at a bearing body by a mechanical process. A diameter of the hole is smaller than an external diameter of a porous vent(50) by 0.1 mm. The porous vent has hundreds of delivery holes(51) formed under 0.03 mm. The bearing body is heated at 200 deg. When an inner diameter of the hole is sufficiently expanded, the cooled porous vent is fixed to the hole of the bearing body to be used as an air injection port. If a temperature of the bearing body decreases, the porous vent and the bearing body are completely adhered to each other.
