PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable seamless broadcast reception by automatically setting a channel for a receiver to receiver a service when moving between service areas for broadcast services provided via different frequency channels. SOLUTION: The receiver comprises means 9 for extracting information for setting a frequency channel from received broadcast signals; means 20 for inputting output signals from the extracting means and demodulating the broadcast signals; means 20 for performing error handling for output signals from the demodulating means; means 21 for decoding output signals from the error handling means and outputting channel setting signals; means 15 for recording and holding the channel setting signals; and means 11 for receiving the channel setting signals from the recording/holding means and output signals from the channel setting signal outputting means, comparing both signals, and changing the channel frequency to be received when the signals are mutually different.
